Two major concerns of many divorcing parents are:
1) Can I run a household on a greatly reduced income? and
2) Will the kids be all right?
GreatMasters provides answers to both questions. It provides educational programs – a short course and a long course – to teach resilience to kids and help parents frame their perceptions to what works when dealing the jarring new realities of family after a divorce. The program uses a holistic model of individual and collective classes to create a healthy emotional foundation that supports new family structures.
For kids: a weekly online class (30 minutes) with a mindfulness coach to teach practical skills that expand personal awareness and deepen social-emotional learning.
For parents: a daily Mindful Moment reflection (15-20 minutes per week) to move from a feeling of quicksand to the confidence in making a stand for what’s right for me. For both the child and parent: a monthly “playdate” hosted by a mindfulness coach to teach how to balance diverse opinions and core beliefs despite the combative family climate. And . . . to have a good time together in spite of the stress.
